A Dreamy Wedding Week at Kempa Villa, Palm Desert, California
I’ve stayed at numerous rental properties over the years, but none were quite like Kempa Villa. Kempa Villa is a luxury villa perched hill top in Palm Desert, California. It’s an incredible location for events such as a top notch family reunion or an epic wedding. The layout of the property consists of a main house, two casitas and a bungalow, allowing for space amongst guests on a cohesive, manicured estate.
We had the pleasure of being a part of a Tom & Emily’s wedding and to fully experience Kempa Villa. We had full access to the estate from 2 days before until 2 days after the wedding with some of the other immediate family members and we couldn’t have planned it better!
Resort-like Amenities at Kempa Villa, Palm Desert, California
Kempa Villa really felt like our own mini resort! The facilities included an infinity pool, fitness room, pond and kitchen which was more than ample for the 18 people it can sleep. I especially loved the outdoor cooking area, which we used multiple times for grilling burgers, steaks and more for our large group. They even have a golf cart on-site to make getting around easier!
Though it has a great sense of privacy and seclusion, it’s also only a few minutes drive to the famous shopping street, El Paseo Drive.
There’s nothing like waking up to watch the sunrise over the mountains (so worth the alarm) from the hot tub or taking the boat for a leisurely afternoon paddle in the pond. Kempa Villa has the capability to be both an epic hosting venue or an oasis be calm and relax.
What it’s like to Experience an Event at Kempa Villa
On the big day, I thoroughly enjoyed that multiple areas around the estate were utilized. The wedding had a lovely flow from start to finish. The bridesmaids got ready in the bungalow at the bottom of the property, while the groomsmen got ready at the main house. The ceremony was set up next to the bungalow in front of some flowers, and greenery with the vineyard to the side.
After the ceremony, guests followed the pavement to the main house for cocktail hour around the turquoise pool. Everyone was mingling while the sun began to get lower in the sky and that desert air started to cool off. The final location was the reception which was held on the upper lawn .
The timing couldn’t have been better because by the time we all sat down to dine, the sun was almost fully set and cotton candy colors filled the backdrop. We enjoyed fish and perfectly cooked steaks for the celebratory meal. The alcohol was purchased by the bride & groom and brought in, but the food, bar + event staff were supplied by an off site catering company. An Aperol spritz and a spicy margarita were the newlywed’s fun signature drinks that went down like a storm!
I’m so glad we opted for those extra days before and after the wedding because it gave us time to actually enjoy everything and spend quality time with the bride, groom and immediate family members. I don’t know if I’ll ever experience such a unique, luxurious villa like that again!
