Where to Stay in Santa Fe, New Mexico

Santa Fe has wonderful options on where to stay,  most of which have Native American influences. You could choose to stay in the biggest resort hotel in New Mexico or in a small luxury boutique hotel. Here are some of the top places to stay in Santa Fe!

Hitlon Buffalo Thunder

Hilton Buffalo Thunder Resort and Casino is the biggest hotel in New Mexico. The casino is under the hotel making the gambling aspect very discreet. The resort is located 15 minute drive from downtown Santa Fe and has beautiful views of the countryside.

Working with Native culture

Hilton Buffalo Thunder works closely with the Pueblo of Pojoaque as the hotel is built on their ancestral  land. The Hotel is heavily inspired by Native American culture which you can see even just by looking at the outside of the hotel .   Native American art and inspired decor are featured inside.

Amentities

Amenities at this massive resort include golf courses, 24 hour fitness centre, indoor and outdoor pool, and lavish spa with Native American themed treatments.

If you really want to treat yourself book the Governor’s Suite. It is a 2 story suite featuring a gorgeous tiled bathroom with large jacuzzi tub.

Hotel Santa Fe

Hotel Santa Fe is the only Native American owned hotel in downtown Santa Fe. It is a smaller hotel located in the Railway Arts District. The hotel is in walking distance of many shops and restaurants.

Unique Characteristics

It boasts unique characteristics and amenities such as an art collection, complimentary shuttle service and private Teepee dining. There is also an outdoor pool and hot tub, fitness centre and  spa. Amaya is the restaurant on site and features local Pueblo and Northern New Mexican cooking with a modern twist.

La Fonda on the Plaza

La Fonda is the only hotel on the Santa Fe Plaza and so much of an essential piece of Santa Fe history that the hotel has its own historian!  A multi award winning property including Travel + Leisure‘s Readers’ Choice Destination of the Year 2017 and Condé Nast Traveler’s Top Ten Reader’s Choice Awards in the Southwest and West 2018.

Don’t miss Eating at the Restaurant

The dining options at La Fonda are a real gem.  Even if you’re not staying her make sure to have breakfast at La Plazuela. I had the Chile Relleno which was delicious!

The Inn of the Five Graces

A Relais and Chateau property and #9 for the best city hotel in the US by TRAVEL + LEISURE in 2018.

This is the most luxurious property on the list and is a real oasis. Intricately decorated rooms with historic and handcrafted artisan pieces thought out. The Inn has a fitness suite, spa and is adjacent to 315 Restaurant & Wine Bar.

I didn’t get a chance to see this property, but its reputation precedes itself!

After you pick where you are gonna stay find out  What to do in Santa Fe.
